Project Description

"Equal rights, equal opportunities - for all" The Rotary Club of Hetauda has started a pickle production and financial literacy empowerment program for women with disabilities. The objective of this program is to provide skills, opportunities and an environment to become self-reliant to women with disabilities.

The training, which will be held at the Rural Women Service Center, Bherab Road, Hetauda, from 29th August 2025, will be started by trainer Suchana Parajuli. Under the program, participating women are trained on the technology, hygiene and quality standards of pickle production using various vegetables, fruits and local ingredients. After the training, they are also taught how to present the product in the market, packaging, branding and strategies to reach customers.

The program was inaugurated by Mina Lama, Mayor of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan Municipality. The participants were requested to move towards entrepreneurship after the training rather than training for training, and it was stated that this training will provide women with financial independence, planned thinking and the ability to expand their businesses in the future.

This training, which will be conducted for the next 10 days, will also provide training on financial literacy. The participating women will be given knowledge on the process of opening a bank account, how to save, how to increase small investments, debt management, income and expenditure record keeping skills, etc.

This training program is being implemented with the joint investment of ADSoN, The Rose International Fund for Children, Rotary Club of Patan and Rotary Club of Hetauda.
